As refrigerant tubes interconnecting the indoor and outdoor parts of split air conditioners, copper tubes have been used for many years.

However, since the price of copper continues to soar, urging aluminum as a substitute for copper has been gaining attention in recent years because of its lower price.

Its commercial use, however, has not been realized until recently, since galvanic corrosion occurs wherever aluminum is connected to another metal.

Moreover, since aluminum is softer than copper, when fastened with nuts after the flaring, refrigerant gas tends to leak as the flare decreases in thickness or deforms.

The Conic Joint, an innovative flareless joint for aluminum tubes developed by INOAC, solves these problems.

The Conic Joint has passed all tests including the 1,000-hour salt water spray test, thus enabling the commercialization of aluminum tubes.
