INOAC's 5Rs for Ecology
INOAC's environment conservation activities include the development of lightweight automotive components, reduction in the use of solvents and coating materials, development of products that do not contain dioxin-producing polyvinyl chloride, improvement of disassembly efficiency through the development of components produced entirely from a single material, development of CFC-free polyurethane and adoption of Japan's first environment-friendly soft-urethane-foam-manufacturing system, called the Yana Ecology System (YES system).

Making use of the thermal insulation characteristics of its rigid urethane foam, INOAC develops various insulation materials for use in buildings, plants, housing, LPG tanks, LNG tanks and large refrigeration facilities. These products are highly effective in saving energy and preventing global warming associated with the generation of CO2.

INOAC supplies a variety of piping covers and pipe materials for heat and cold insulation of piping. Using diverse materials, including rigid urethane, foamed polyethylene and rubber sponge, INOAC satisfies the diversified needs of piping constructions, such as hot-water piping and air-conditioner piping, thereby contributing to energy saving while reducing heat loss.

To conserve and improve the global environment, improvement in automobile fuel efficiency is essential. INOAC, as the manufacturer of hundreds of models of automotive components, remains committed to this issue under the concept of weight reduction, and has achieved many results. Today's cars must be sophisticated in terms of design, safety and riding comfort. With its distinguished product development expertise, INOAC seeks to produce lightweight components without compromising on the satisfaction of needs.

To lead a comfortable daily life, we must control noise around us. Taking advantage of its expertise and materials based on urethane, rubber and plastic, and having a full variety of testing facilities to realize more effective noise prevention measures, INOAC supplies integrated acoustical insulation systems that encompass noise investigation, measurement, analysis, prevention design, and the evaluation of effects, as well as a variety of acoustical insulation materials.

The polyurethane foam, which INOAC produces in abundance, play a significant role in environmental purification. The use of INOAC-developed polyurethane foam in sewage treatment improves purification efficiency considerably, helping reduce the necessary size of treatment facilities. This new technology is now under study regarding practical use; its future improvement is awaited.

| Studless chassis | The elimination of metal studs (by integrated boss molding) enables easy recycling and reduces labor involving segregation. |
|---|---|
| Molds without plating | Plating cannot be recycled. INOAC is developing materials that can provide EMI shield without plating. |
| MAPS | This enables the molding of easily recyclable olefin resin that do not require the use of environment-hostile materials, such as organic solvents, in the manufacturing processes. |
